An enquiry service, not an installer. Windows and Doors Birmingham passes your enquiry to one independent local installer. We don't make, supply, survey or fit windows, doors or conservatories, and any agreement about the work is between you and the installer.
No checks on installers. We don't inspect or approve the installers that receive enquiries, and we don't confirm their insurance, scheme registration, guarantees or previous work. Please make your own checks before you agree to anything, using how to choose an installer.
General information, not advice. Everything on this site is general information for homeowners in and around Birmingham. None of it is professional, legal or financial advice about your home or your situation.
Prices. Figures in the cost guides are typical UK ranges drawn from published sources and dated to the year shown. They are not quotes, and your price depends on the openings, the products and the installer.
Planning permission. What we say about planning permission, conservation areas and listed buildings is general information, not advice, based on government and council guidance at the time of writing. Rules vary between councils and between properties. An Article 4 direction can remove permitted development rights on some streets, so check with your council's planning team before ordering anything for a home in a conservation area, a listed building or a flat.
Estate schemes. Where an estate scheme applies, such as the Calthorpe Estate or the Bournville Village Trust, the estate's consent can be needed as well as anything the council requires. Our page on estate schemes is general information, not advice. Get the estate's consent before you order, because made-to-measure windows usually can't be cancelled once they've been ordered.
Building regulations. Our summary of building regulations for windows, doors and conservatories is general information, not advice. Replacing a whole window or door normally has to be certified, either by an installer registered with a government-authorised scheme or through the council's building control team. Ask the installer which route applies before work starts.
Grants. The double glazing grants guide is general information, not advice. Windows and Doors Birmingham is not a grant provider, can't apply for a grant on your behalf and has no connection to any government or council scheme. Whether you qualify for anything is decided by the scheme itself, and schemes open, change and close.
Consumer rights. What we say about cancellation, guarantees, deposits and paying by card is general information, not legal advice. For advice on a particular contract or dispute, contact the Citizens Advice consumer helpline on 0808 223 1133 or a solicitor.
Timings. When an installer calls back or visits is for the installer to arrange, so we make no promise about how quickly anyone will be in touch.
